DLP LightCrafter features the 0.3 WVGA chipset, provides a variety of embedded functionality such as: structured light pattern projection, intelligent lighting, wavelength selection and portable display.Developers can easily create, store, and display high-speed pattern sequences through DLP LightCrafter's USB-based application programming interface (API) and easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI). The module also features the powerful TMS320DM365 digital media processor based on DaVinci technology from Texas Instruments. With an ARM9 DSP core, DLP LightCrafter's DM365 runs a Linux operating system to give users the ability to develop a complete embedded system around the 0.3 WVGA chipset. A configurable input/output trigger allows for convenient synchronization with cameras, sensors, or other peripheral devices.The DLP LightCrafter includes an RGB LED light engine developed and manufactured by Young Optics International. Designed specifically for the DLP3000 DMD, this light engine produces bright, wide aspect ratio patterns well-suited for use in a variety of ambient light environments. For applications where even higher brightness is required, active cooling and thermal management systems can be added to enable light out in excess of 50 lumens.Included with DLP LightCrafter Development Module:

The software and firmware provides developers flexibility and advanced control of the digital micromiror device (DMD). In addition, it offers convenient interfacing and extensive feature sets to accelerate development of end equipments using spatial light modulation. DLP LightCrafter EVMs come installed with Firmware and Software Package v1.0. To promote proper functionality, do not combine software and firmware from different release packages.The firmware and software packages include:DLPLIGHTCRAFTERGUI –?Graphical user interface enables easy configuration of and data upload to DLP LightCrafter?via the USB. API commands can be sent from Windows, Linux, and Mac machines (Windows only in v1.0 package). GUI v3.8 is only compatible with DLP LightCrafter modules that have upgraded to Firmware and Software Package v1.1. GUI v3.7 should be used with un-upgraded DLP LightCrafter modules out-of-box.DLPR300FPGA –?Configuration firmware for optional FPGA. Programs an Altera Cyclone IV EP4CE6 FPGA that can be used in conjunction with the DLPC300 controller to enable even higher speed monochrome pattern display on the DLP3000 compared with using the DLPC300 alone. The optional FPGA allows users to multiplex two data input sources and provides a fully configurable I/O trigger for synchronizing cameras, sensors, and other peripheral devices. It also provides for additional LED control capabilities.DLP3000-C300REFDM365 -?Application reference SW based on TI's DVSDK platform.
