Nokia is thinking about it’s own Sidekick

With the convenience and popularity of the T-Mobile Sidekick devicefor mobile messaging, it was only a matter of time until someone elsetried to replicate the form factor and make something similar.
This time it’s Nokia, which has filed a patent application for a device that looks pretty much like a Sidekick, with a little twist:
?

Instead of making just a simple slider, with a screen part slidingup and revealing QWERY keyboard, Nokia decided to add a turning part onthe side as an opening device. To open the screen, you have to turn thehandle 180 degrees.?
Such a set-up may add some more stability tothe overall arrangement, though I’m not sure that it would be betterthen the original Sidekick.
On the other hand, if Danger(designer of Sidekick) has some patents of it’s own, protectingSidekick form factor, this may be Nokia’s way of going around them.
